Love It!

What do you get when you add Hitchcock to the zaniness of Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster? A whole lot of laughs, possibly someone is kidnapped, mysteries, drama, return of Rachel Leigh Cook as Abigail, and of course...MURDER!

Ally Sheedy is back as Mr. Yang, but she has had a partner, who is on the loose. Mary is back as an "expert" on Mr. Yin and Mr. Yang, but he refuses to wear those short shorts! (If you haven't been following Psych from last season, Mary is a man!) Mr. Yin apparently enjoys the work of Alfred Hitchcock. In true Yin/Yang style, there are clues and puzzles that have been sent to or left for Psych's Shawn and Gus, and even some for the Santa Barbara Police Department. These puzzles are, of course, given with a series of Hitchcock-style scenarios.

After some thoughtful process, the suspicions of Mr. Yin's true identity are turned to Mary. Shawn and Gus follow Mary into an old, large building. As they are watching Mary through the security cameras, they quickly learn that Mary is no longer a victim, and just as in Hitchcock's films, Mary is attacked from behind, and is no longer suspected as being Mr. Yin. Eventually, Mr. Yin has lined up for the Police Department and the Psych department to reenact one of his favorite Hitchcock films. When they arrive, and as they are getting into their parts, Juliette is taken through an underground passage. Meanwhile, McNab has gone to pick up Abigail from the airport. When he arrives, Mr. Yin sneaks upon him and shoots him (don't worry, McNab doesn't die!), and Abigail is taken. After he has captured Juliette and Abigail, Mr. Yin calls Shawn, who supposedly has to choose between Juliette and Abigail. Shawn and his father run to Abigail's rescue, while Gus and Lassiter are sent after Juliette.

The episode ends at Mary's funeral. Mr. Yin is not done; he has not been captured, and the few quick glimpses were not enough to identify him. Also, did you spot the pineapple?

There was mystery, laughs, and action. The comedic timing and the Hitchcock references were well-placed. All of the favorite characters had an appearance. And of course, the tribute to Mary by Gus and Shawn was done only in their classic Psych way.
