In Plain Sight is an hour-long drama that is centered around Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack), a smart, sarcastic, tough yet sexy US Marshal who works for the Federal Witness Protection Program. The show is a smart and funny drama that is exciting to watch and geared towards adults.

In the first episode, we find out that Shannon has to protect some pretty shady characters in her line of work. And while many of the witnesses under her care are disgusting career criminals, some are just innocent people who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Being under her care means no family, friends, home, jobs, nothing you knew before — not even your name. And for some, this can be hard to handle, and they break the rules, causing them harm from those who want to hurt them.

It is especially hard for one family under Shannon's care: a former mob family. The wife can't stop talking to friends on the net, and their son ends up getting murdered. But who killed him, and why? That's what Shannon has to figure out before the father goes all vigilante to get his brand of justice for his son. She has to protect the client no matter who it is.

So Shannon has a murder on her hands, a psycho client, a new Ukrainian girl who was in the wrong place at the right time to protect and a birthday party to attend — hers. She is stressed, and we discover that this tough cookie can't do everything herself. She needs a little help, which comes in the form of her partner Marshall Mann (Fred Weller). He is her right-hand man, and she couldn't do her job without him, even though she might never admit it.

Other characters we are introduced to are Shannon's silly mother Jinx (Lesley Ann Warren), her emotionally-dependant sister Brandi (Nichole Hiltz), and her on-and-off-again boyfriend Raphael (Cristián de la Fuente.) Her relationships are strained and difficult, to put it mildly, but that is partly due to the fact that in order to keep her clients safe, only her partner really knows what she does for a living.

In Plain Sight is a good show. There are some moments that dragged and were cliché, but for the most part I enjoyed it. If you like drama, action, a little romance, and hot girls with guns, you will love this show.
