Love It!

"Robin Hood", BBC AMERICA's contemporary retelling of a timeless classic, starts off a new season this week. Eager fans are waiting to eat up its delicious action/adventure twists and turns, with a little bit of romance on the side.

Season two begins with Robin (Jonas Armstrong) and his men (Much, Little John, Will Scarlett, Allan A Dale and Djaq) dealing with new dilemmas and challenges. The wicked Sheriff of Nottingham (Keith Allen) has set in motion a new plan to kill King Richard and take power for himself. Along with his new partners in crime (the Black Knights), the sherrif begins operation "Shah Mat", a plot to kill the king and take over England. Oh, and did I tell you, the sherrif wants Robin Hood's head on a stick?

But Robin does what he does best, and escapes the sheriff's goons. He returns to Marian's (Lucy Griffiths) home, Knighton Hall, where their relationship seems to be moving in the right direction — that is, until the sheriff's right-hand man, Guy of Gisborne (Richard Armitage), decides to make Marian pay for leaving him at the altar. He arrests her father and sets ablaze her family home. They are taken to the sheriff's castle and held hostage until the sheriff decides what to do with them. And that's just the beginning of this fun and witty program.

This season, Robin must battle with his love for Marian, and also deal with a traitor within his own gang: Allan A Dale. What will Robin do when he finds out he has been betrayed? If he kicks him out, will Allan turn to Gisborne and expose Robin and Marian's secrets? And how can Robin protect the king, Marian, his men, and all of Nottingham from being destroyed by the Black Nights?

If you like action, romance, comedy, and men in tights, "Robin Hood" is for you. This season is sure to be a fun, action-packed ride that I plan on taking each Saturday.
