Love It!

The wait is finally over, and "Gossip Girl" is back. I don't know about you, but that writers' strike seriously put a damper in my Chace Crawford ogling. The new promos were nice, and running to YouTube to watch legal porn was fun, but I needed my fix, so I am glad it's back.

Let's review, shall we! When we last left our favorite show, Blair was disgraced after the news leaked about her sexual exploits with now former best friends, Chuck and Nate. Chuck and Serena's parents are about to be married. Yuck, they are going to be siblings. Poor Serena. Jenny is now on her way to being Queen Bee after dethroning Blair by spilling her guts to Nate about Blair and Chuck. Gotta say the girl knows how to play her cards.

One of the questions I am dying to have answered is, who is the show's homosexual? During the writers' strike, the news was leaked (not-so-subtly, I might add) that one of the main characters on "Gossip Girl" is going to be outed. So the question is, do we have gay guy or a lesbian on the show? Since everyone on the show has slept around but Jenny and Eric, my bet is on one of them. Personally, I am choosing Eric, but we could be surprised. Chuck does love fashion just a bit too much for my taste.

Now to the good news: Gossip Girl is back, and they started off with a flourish. The new episode "The Blair Bitch Project" is just that. The episode focuses on Blair and her desire to be back on top as Queen Bitch. It starts with Blair dreaming about Breakfast at Tiffany's, her favorite tearjerker. She is dreaming about losing her cat when Nate comes in to save her. But he doesn't, he leaves her there all alone in the rain, searching for her cat. The cat, of course, is a metaphor for her life. Almost all of her friends are gone, and she has lost Nate.

But Blair never stays alone for long, and dutiful Serena tries to comfort her and convince her that everything has been forgotten, and that no one at school cares that she slept with her ex-boyfriend's best friend. Wrong! When they get there, all of the students treat her like a pariah, and Jenny spills yogurt on her head. Blair is once again embarrassed and alone.

Jenny, Jenny, how high can this girl climb before she falls? Jenny wants to be Queen Bee, and is willing to lie, steal, and scheme to get it. She truly is another Blair in the making. But how long can this last? All of Jenny's friends have money. Jenny does not. She has sold all of her belongings to attend fancy lunches and vacations in Aspen in attempt to fit in. But will she ever truly belong? I don't think so, but I could be proven wrong. Jenny did set up Blair to fall for a fake party, causing Blair endless embarrassment. And Jenny did steal a Valentino from a friend's closet. She might be up for it after all.

But don't think Blair is going to just let Jenny take over her thrown. Blair makes plans of her own, and they involve endless amounts of embarrassment for Jenny. After all, you only turn fifteen once, and Blair can ruin anything she puts her mind to. Blair helps Rufus invite all of Jenny's so-called friends to celebrate Jenny's birthday at their house. And since a loft is not a palace, and crepe paper is not a chandelier, Jenny is mortified to find all of her friends waiting in her kitchen. And to make things worse, Jenny is wearing the dress she stole and has been caught red-handed. Who's the Queen Bee now?

Blair is, and she jumps on the opportunity. She announces that she has a table at the local "it" spot, and all of the girls follow Blair, leaving Jenny mortified and alone. But Jenny isn't done playing yet. After the girls leave and Rufus reads her the riot act, Jenny calls in for reinforcements in the shape of Nate. Jenny convinces Nate that she can't handle being alone and that he has to take her out for her birthday. So who happens to show up at Blair's table? That's right, all of her former friends and Jenny, with Nate on her arm. Blair almost won, score one for Jenny. Can't wait to see who wins next week!

While this drama unfolds, Serena is having her own problems with her newest sibling, Chuck. He keeps sending her rude and disgusting presents, from porn to champagne to cocaine. Serena is pissed and wants it to stop. She complains to Chuck's dad and has him kicked out of the penthouse. Chuck denies it; he swears he never sent the gifts. But Blair doesn't believe him, and we are left wondering who did. In the last few minutes, the real Serena gift-giver is revealed to be a mysterious person with the initial "G". Whoever this person is has Serena and Chuck worried, and we all know what that means: more dirt will be thrown, and the claws will come out. Let's hope Blair can find her cat, because Serena is going to need her. Stay tuned!

"Gossip Girl" is a great show, and I love it! It's not going to win an Emmy or be nominated for a Golden Globe (perhaps an MTV award), but it will win the hearts of its fans who are loyal and love a bit of trash to get them through the week.
