Interview - Bones
Recently LLH went to Comic Con in San Diego. While there several TV shows had panel discussions about what is going to happen next season. Bones, one of my favorite TV shows, was one of those shows. While waiting for over an hour with a thousand of my closest and dearest friends, I was finally allowed in to the hall where I was treated to a half-hour clip of one of next season's episodes. Let's just say the clip showed Bones having a lot of fun!

Then the panel discussion began, lots of screaming, women wanting to strip David bare, and cat-calls ensued as the cast and directors were announced. And let me just say David Boreanaz knows how to work a crowd, especially a crowd of women. He is sexy, funny, self-deprecating and hot. David did take over the panel for most of the time, as they discussed some upcoming events in season four and took audience questions but he's the one most women wanted to hear from anyways. David wasn't the only one who attended the panel ,Tamara Taylor (Cam), John Francis Daley (Dr. Sweets) and Michaela Conlin (Angela) as well as creators Hart Hanson and Barry Josephson, sat down to talk about the series.

Let's talk about the clip we just saw. What is it about?

Hanson: This is one of the first episodes from season four. And I won't bother going into the deeply order of how we shot things. In fact, we just got back from England. And David is going to get me some water. (Boreanaz is stretching across him getting a glass of water while trying to be irritating and cute.) That's the kind of guy he is. (The girls aw) We just got back from England where we shot a terrific season premiere. It's over two-hours and it comes out on September 3.

David, what does chicken, fish and double-decker buses have in common?

Boreanaz: They all hit each other while some one or something is going in the opposite direction. (Huh?) See double-decker buses are on the wrong side of the road and I always ended up on the wrong side of the road. And there's chicken (the game not the animal) involved and I was playing chicken because I was in a mini-cooper from 1972. And I couldn't drive the darn thing because it was a pain in the ass and it had a damn clutch and I was really pissed off. And ever 14-seconds it would rain. I was cold, damp and miserable. And then our call times would be at 6:45am and we wouldn't shoot till 8:45am. Would you not be upset?

Was that the answer you were looking for Hart?

Hanson : David really doesn't like three things; chicken, fish and double-deckers.

Boreanaz: Well double-decker buses make me a little bit nervous. We were on top of a double-decker bus and you can't breath, you get claustrophobic and I really thought that there was a terrorist close by. So I was sweating profusely and we were turning in these double-decker buses and I was terrified. So I had to get out of the bus so I could get out of the bus for like 5 minutes so I could deal. But where does the chickens come from? (He asks Hanson)

Hanson: You don't like chickens.

Boreanaz: Well I don't like birds. I have a bird phobia just to begin with. Wouldn't you? They flop, they get into your house, they are bad luck. No birds. What was the third? Fish. What do you mean? (asking Hanson)

Hanson: If you saw David on Martha Stewart he did not like fish.

Boreanaz: Oh, I have a thing about sardines but that's a whole other story.

Hanson: (To the moderator) Is this the direction you wanted this to go?

Moderator: I think so. (asking crowd) Is this the direction you wanted this to go? Crowd hollers.

The fact that you got to shoot this in London to bring it back full circle, what does this say about the confidence Fox has in this show after three years of slot moves and craziness?

Josephson: I think the network has confidence in us cause we have always been the anchor of the night.

I think people would be interested in knowing where your character is going this season. Michaela?

Conlin: Oh I have a big juicy storyline. I heard that Angela may have a relationship this season that is with someone by the name of Roxie. I believe it is an ex-girlfriend or so I hear. Stay tuned!

Boreanaz: Booth is going to get in on that!

Conlin: (laughing) I'm sure you will!

Boreanaz: (Sings "She kissed a girl and she liked it") Booth likes that too! (the crows laughs as Conlin turns red)

Daley: Uh, my character has a sex change.

Boreanaz: You weren't supposed to say that.

Daley: Oh sorry. Just kidding. My character might find love…maybe.

John does Sweets have to work a little harder to ingratiate himself back into the group after that whole Gormogon incident?

Daley: Absolutely! No body trusts him now but Sweets always has to work a little harder to get their respect.

And Tamara?

Taylor: A suspect my character may have a little tryst, you know get into the sac.

Moderator: So in season four everybody is getting lucky?

Hanson: The second part of Cam's tryst is that it is with someone who Angela has slept with.

Taylor: It's inappropriate

And that leads us to the question everyone wants to know, are the two most important people going to be getting luck this season?

Hanson: You mean with each other?

Moderator: I think that's what we want to know.

Hanson: I think I have said it in enough places. This year Booth and Brennen will be in bed together naked. That's all I am going to say about it. But I didn't say tryst.

Talk about the whole Gormogon serial killer story. It got cute short because of the writers strike. How did that affect you season last year?

Hanson: Season three was a bit truncated for us because of the strike. We brilliantly figured out that probably we could get the remainder shoot. We were wrong. We have to come back and provide one more episode which was the one where we wrapped up the Gormogon story thus losing a well beloved character that was a regular on the show. (crowd boo's) I know I have read it on the internet. You are very, very quick to judge and you know who I am talking about. I've taken some heat for that but I will say on that subject, don't worry about Eric Millegan, Zack is not doing great but Eric is fine.

Will Zack be back in season four?

Hanson: Zack will definitely be back and I hope he is played by Eric Millegan

Boreanaz: Nobody is else can play Zack; he will be played my Eric Millegan.

Hanson: He will be played my Eric Millegan.

But what you wanted to do with that storyline kind of got messed up.

Yeah what we had to do in that one episode was supposed to happen over 3-5 episodes, but there's no excuses in television and if fans didn't like it, which many didn't, they we just have to say 'ooh we aren't going to be able to carry it off". I am still pretty pleased.

For the actors, did you feel hurried or confused by what happened?

Daley: I felt that way but only because I just joined and I didn't know what episode we were on. So, I was just thrown in the mix.

Hanson: We shot everything out of order. It was immensely confusing

So how many episodes do you have in the can?

Josephson: We have six but we will have eight soon.

Hanson: But the actors were constantly saying where are we? What's happening? Because they were all confused.

Part two will be in the next issue
