Review - "Berserker #5"
Reviewer: Aimee Miller Rating:
Aaron is introduced to Midgard International hoping that they can help him control his berserker instinct. As Aaron continues his training under the watchful eye of Midgard, Farris sets himself firmly on a collision course as he vows to destroy all of the other Berserkers. However, Aaron is still having visions of his dead girlfriend Courtney that may cause him to head down a dangerous and deadly path. Seduced away from his father and those trying to help him, he finds his way to Locke and his group of fanatics in time to see Farris break through the camp to rescue his girlfriend. When these two inexperienced, powerful Berserkers meet, only blood and carnage can follow in their wake.
The story of these "Berserkers" is continued in another solid issue from Rick Loverd and company. The issue begins with a side story that was introduced in a previous issue, and was solid from start to finish. The storylines always leave you waiting impatiently for the next issue. Loverd's writing in this story is excellent, and the dialogue fits the story and characters to a tee! The art was definitely Jeremy Huan, whom I find to be extremely talented. This team has put together a great story, wonderful characters — some that you'll love, and some that you'll love to hate — and artwork that is pleasing to the eyes! I highly recommend the Berserker series.
