Love It!

New York Times best-selling author Sherrilyn Kenyon recently released her twelfth book and final story in the Dark-Hunter series arch, Acheron. With millions of fans aching for this novels release, Kenyon newest novel bolted to the top of the best-sellers list and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Until a few months ago, I had never even heard of this series, same on me. But several readers brought it to my attention, in hopes that I would review it, and now like them, I am obsessed. If this is your first time hearing about the book, like myself, please don't start with this book, start at the beginning so you get all of the storylines and information you will need to understand Acheron.

Acheron covers the life and loves of Acheron aka Ash, the leader of the Dark Hunters. These hunters are a group of men and women who protect the human race from soul sucking vampires, called Daimon's. These vampires, who because of a curse from the god Apollo will die at the age of twenty-seven if they don't replenish their own souls with human ones. But as this is an abomination, as the human soul dies inside a Daimon and will never go to heaven, the Daimon's must be killed. That's where the Dark Hunter comes in, it is their job to kill the Daimon's and return the human soul to heaven. But in order to have the strength and ability to kill the vampires the hunters had to give up their soul to the goddess Artemis for a final act of vengeance against the person who killed their human self. Once she has their souls they are made immortal and are forbidden to have love in there lives. They are hunters and that is all she wants them to do. But some hunters have disobeyed her and found love and in those unique situations Ash has stepped in and taken the punishment Artemis has given so the hunter can have his or her soul back and live forever with their love.

Until now, readers and fan forums have been given glimpses in to Ash's life from previous novels and formed their own ideas of who this elusive man is. But like me, they were wrong. Ash is a wonderful complex man whose story will make you weep. His compassion and love for all of humanity makes your heart ach, especially as his own life is reveled. And you are left wondering who will step in and take the punishment from Artemis when it is his time to fall in love.

Acheron is a wonderful novel that all romance readers will enjoy. It is full of action adventure, compassion, love, seduction and tears - a perfect novel for the romantic in each of us.
