Brandon Mull's Fablehaven Grip of the Shadow Plague is a fantastic story about family, loyalty, and putting others' needs before your own. Fablehaven fanatics are sure to soak up this magical world with every turn of the page, and will eagerly await the upcoming fourth novel.
Grip of the Shadow Plague starts off with Seth as he and the satyrs continue to find trouble in their search for gold. It seems that Seth can't get a break, as trouble always seems to find him. While Seth is out in the forest, he discovers an evil darkness that is taking over the kind creatures of light on the preserve.
The darkness is spreading quickly, and Kendra must leave Seth and her grandfather for the first time and visit another magical preserve. She must find one of the other hidden artifacts which will help save the preserve and keep the plague from spreading. But what will happen? Will Kendra find the artifact? Will she make it home in time to save Fablehaven?
Grip of the Shadow Plague is a great coming-of-age story. It shows how being trustworthy and dedicated to something you believe in can change you and inspire you to be better than you are. Kendra and Seth both grow and change in this latest Fablehaven story, and Kendra even finds a little romance along the way.
Grip of the Shadow Plague pulls the reader in from the first page and never lets go. Brandon Mull understands how to write his magical world so well that you sometimes forget Kendra, Seth, and Fablehaven aren't real. I know I did. Readers of all ages will love this magical adventure story, and if you have yet to discover the series, I highly suggest you do so.
